Email not arriving, not sending or asking for a password
Fix the most common email problems.
I cannot log in or my app keeps asking for a password
- Check the username is your full email address.
- Test the same address and password in webmail. If that fails, the password is wrong: set a new one in Email then Password.
- If webmail works but your app does not, delete the saved password in the app and enter it again.
Sending fails
- "Sender address rejected: not owned by user" means you are sending from a different address than the one you logged in with.
- Check the outgoing server is
mail.yourdomain.com, port 465 with SSL/TLS (or 587 with STARTTLS), with authentication on. - If you send a lot, you may have reached the sending limit. Waiting an hour usually clears it.
Messages are not arriving
- Check spam and the other folders first.
- Is the mailbox full? The Email page shows how full each one is.
- Is your domain's email pointing at us? Your MX record should be
mail.hosteaze.com. See DNS records. - A message you sent that bounced shows the reason in the bounce message. Send us a copy.
A certificate or "name mismatch" warning
Your app is connecting to the wrong server name. The server must be mail. plus your own domain. Right after a move, wait a few hours and try again.
My messages go to the other person's spam
Make sure your domain still has its SPF and DKIM records (see DNS records). If they are present and it keeps happening, tell us who the recipient is and we will look.
