Confirming your email address

Why we ask new accounts to confirm their email address, what to do if the email hasn't arrived, and what you can do before you have.

Last updated 2026-10-04

When you create a new account we send a message with a link in it. Using the link confirms that the address is really yours.

Why we ask

It stops other people creating accounts in your name, or with an address that isn't theirs, and it means the invoices, renewal reminders and security messages we send always reach a real person. It also stops automated sign-ups, which is why the rest of the site stays quick and tidy for everybody.

What to do

  1. Open the message called Confirm your email address for Hosteaze.
  2. Press Confirm my email address.
  3. You'll see a page saying your email is confirmed, and your account is fully open.

The link works for three days and can be used from any device. You don't need to be logged in.

If it hasn't arrived

  • Look in your spam or junk folder, and any "promotions" tab.
  • Check the address you gave us. It's shown in the yellow bar at the top of your account.
  • Press Send it again in that bar. You can ask for a new link a few times an hour. A new link replaces the old one.
  • Still nothing? Use our Support page and we'll help.

What you can do before you confirm

You can log in and look around your account. Until the address is confirmed you can't order hosting or a domain, add a card, or open a support conversation. The Help Centre and our Support page are open to everyone.

If you already have an account with us

You won't be asked. Customers who joined before this was introduced, and customers whose accounts we set up for them, are already confirmed. Using a password-reset link also confirms your address, because only the owner of the inbox can use it.

Using a temporary email address

Temporary inbox services (the kind that delete mail after a few minutes) can't be used to create an account, because we couldn't reach you about your website or invoices. Please use a permanent address.
