Caching: make your site faster

What caching does, how to switch it on and how to clear it.

Caching saves a ready-made copy of your pages, so visitors get them instantly instead of waiting for your website to build each page.

Turn it on

  1. Open Caching in the control panel.
  2. Switch caching on.

Clear the cache

After you change your website, visitors may still see the old page until the saved copy expires. Choose Clear cache to remove it.

Pages to keep live

Some pages must never be saved, such as a basket, checkout or members' area. Add them to Pages to keep live and they will always be built fresh. Logged-in users and WordPress's admin pages are never cached.
