Change an email password
Set a new password for one of your email addresses.
- Open Email in your control panel.
- Choose Password next to the address.
- Type the new password and save.
The old password stops working at once. You will need to type the new one into Outlook, Thunderbird and your phone, and into anything else that uses the address, such as a website contact form.
Warning. A website or app that sends email through a mailbox (for example a contact form on your site) stores that mailbox's password. After you change it, update the password in that website or app too, or it will stop sending.
Choose a long password you do not use anywhere else. If you suspect a password has leaked, change it straight away and tell us.
