Email server settings
The settings to type into any email app, such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or a phone.
Use these settings for every email address on your domain. Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain.
| Incoming mail (IMAP) | Outgoing mail (SMTP) | |
|---|---|---|
| Server | mail.yourdomain.com | mail.yourdomain.com |
| Port | 993 | 465 (or 587) |
| Security | SSL/TLS | SSL/TLS on 465, STARTTLS on 587 |
| Username | your full email address | your full email address |
| Password | the mailbox password | the mailbox password |
- Use IMAP, not POP. IMAP keeps your mail on the server so every device sees the same messages. POP is not available.
- The username is the whole address, for example
hello@yourdomain.com, not justhello. - Outgoing mail needs a login. Choose "My outgoing server requires authentication" (wording varies) and use the same username and password.
Note. If your domain has only just been moved to us, mail.yourdomain.com can take a few hours to start working everywhere. If you see a certificate warning in that time, wait and try again.
