Starting on a free temporary address

What it is

If you don't have a domain yet, or you're not ready to move the one you have, you can start on a free temporary address when you order. It looks like yourname.temp.hosteaze.com, and you choose the name.

Your hosting works the same way as with your own domain: you can upload files, install WordPress and set up databases.

Choosing the name

Use letters, numbers and hyphens, between 3 and 30 characters. A few names are kept for us (such as www or mail), and the order page tells you straight away if the one you want is taken.

Moving to your own domain later

Whenever you're ready, send us a message and tell us the domain you'd like to use, and we'll help you move your website over.

If you'd rather buy a new domain, you can do that from Domains in your account.

Good to know

• A temporary address is for building and showing your website. Choose a domain of your own for a real business or anything you want people to remember.
• Email addresses on a temporary address (such as hello@yourname.temp.hosteaze.com) aren't suitable for real use. Wait until you have your own domain.
